Introduction to Squid

The Squid package is a powerful Web Cache Proxy.

install -v -m700 -d /var/spool/squid &&
chown -v squid:squid /var/spool/squid

Configuration Information

--enable-linux-netfilter: to compile with Iptables support. #recommed
--enable-ssl: to compile with Open-SSL support.
--enable-shared: to compile with shared libs support.
--enable-default-err-language=German : to compile with your language; see $src_dir/error
" --enable-icmp": ICMP support over Squid

Non-Multilib

Compile the package:

./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc/squid --enable-linux-netfilter &&
make

Install the package

make install

Multilib

This package does not provide any libraries so only one installation is needed.

32Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD32}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc/squid \

--enable-linux-netfilter &&

make

Install the package

make install

64Bit

Compile the package

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc/squid \

--enable-linux-netfilter --libdir=/usr/lib64 &&

make

Install the package

make install
