Introduction to FriBidi

The FriBidi package is an implementation of the Unicode Bidirectional Algorithm (bidi). This is useful for supporting Arabic and Hebrew alphabets in other packages.

Dependencies

Non-Multilib

Compile the package:

./configure --prefix=/usr &&
make

Install the package

make install

Multilib

32Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD32}" ./configure --prefix=/usr &&
make

Install the package

make install &&
mv -v /usr/bin/fribidi-config{,-32}

N32

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILDN32}" ./configure --prefix=/usr \
    --libdir=/usr/lib32 &&
make

Install the package

make install &&
mv -v /usr/bin/fribidi-config{,-n32}

64Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" ./configure --prefix=/usr \
    --libdir=/usr/lib64 &&
make

Install the package

make install &&
mv -v /usr/bin/fribidi-config{,-64} &&
ln -sfv multiarch_wrapper /usr/bin/fribidi-config

Installed Programs: fribidi and fribidi-config
Installed Libraries: libfribidi.{so,a}
Installed Directories: /usr/include/fribidi

Short Descriptions

fribidi is a command-line interface to the libfribidi library and can be used to convert a logical string to visual output.
fribidi-config is used to acquire information about the installed libfribidi library.
libfribidi.{so,a} contains functions used to implement the Unicode Bidirectional Algorithm.
