The GDBM package contains the GNU Database Manager. This is a disk file format database which stores key/data-pairs in single files. The actual data of any record being stored is indexed by a unique key, which can be retrieved in less time than if it was stored in a text file.

Note

GDBM does not use DESTDIR, it uses INSTALL_ROOT instead. Just use INSTALL_ROOT as you would DESTDIR.

Note

Appending --enable-libgdbm-compat configure option as shown will build and install computability headers and libraries.

Non-Multilib

Compile the package:

./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-libgdbm-compat &&
make

Install the package

make install

Multilib

32Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD32}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-libgdbm-compat &&
make

Install the package

make  install

N32

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILDN32}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib32 --enable-libgdbm-compat &&
make

Install the package

make install

64Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib64 --enable-libgdbm-compat &&
make

Install the package

make install
