Introduction to GDBM

GNU dbm is a set of database routines that use extensible hashing. It works similar to the standard Unix dbm routines.

Note

GDBM does not use DESTDIR, it uses INSTALL_ROOT instead. Just use INSTALL_ROOT as you would DESTDIR.

Append --enable-libgdbm-compat configure option to build and install computability headers and libraries.

Non-Multilib

Compile the package:

./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-libgdbm-compat &&
make

Install the package

make install

Multilib

32Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD32}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-libgdbm-compat &&
make

Install the package

make  install

N32

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILDN32}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib32 --enable-libgdbm-compat &&
make

Install the package

make install

64Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib64 --enable-libgdbm-compat &&
make

Install the package

make install
