Introduction to Geany
Geany is a Gtk2-based IDE that is not "tied" to a desktop environment like KDevelop (KDE) and Anjuta (GNOME). It only requires Gtk runtime libraries. Geany supports C, C++, Java, PHP, XML, HTML, Python, Perl, and Pascal.

Configuration Information
The following options can be passed to the configure script.
--disable-vte: disables virtual termninal support. |
--enable-the-force: enable if you are Luke Skywalker and the force is with you. |
Non-Multilib
Apply the optional patch to add syntax highlighting for R and S-Plus scripts:
patch -Np1 -i ../geany-0.14-R_highlighting-1.patch
Compile the package:
./configure --prefix=/usr && make
Install the package:
make install
Multilib
This package does not provide any libraries so only one installation is required.
32Bit
Apply the optional patch to add syntax highlighting for R and S-Plus scripts:
patch -Np1 -i ../geany-0.14-R_highlighting-1.patch
Compile the package:
