Introduction to GnuTLS

According to the TLS protocal specification, "The TLS protocol provides communications privacy over the Internet. The protocol allows client/server applications to communicate in a way that is designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, or message forgery." GnuTLS aims to develop a library which provides a secure layer, over a reliable transport layer. Currently the GnuTLS library implements the proposed standards by the IETF's TLS working group.

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILDN32}" CXX="g++ ${BUILDN32}" USE_ARCH=n32 \
./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib32 &&
make

Install the package

make install &&
mv -v /usr/bin/libgnutls-config{,-n32} &&
mv -v /usr/bin/libgnutls-extra-config{,-n32}

64Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" CXX="g++ ${BUILD64}" USE_ARCH=64 \
./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib64 &&
make

Install the package

make install &&
mv -v /usr/bin/libgnutls-config{,-64} &&
mv -v /usr/bin/libgnutls-extra-config{,-64} &&
ln -sfv multiarch_wrapper /usr/bin/libgnutls-config &&
ln -sfv multiarch_wrapper /usr/bin/libgnutls-extra-config
