Introduction to LibIDL

libIDL is a library licensed under the GNU LGPL for creating trees of CORBA Interface Definition Language (IDL) files, which is a specification for defining portable interfaces. libIDL was initially written for ORBit (the ORB from the GNOME project, and the primary means of libIDL distribution).

Currently, libIDL does not compile with Flex 2.5.34. With 2.5.33 there is no problems

Compile the package:

./configure --prefix=/usr &&
make

Install the package

make install

Multilib

32Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD32}" CXX="g++ ${BUILD32}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATH32}" \
./configure --prefix=/usr &&
make

Install the package

make install &&
mv -v /usr/bin/libIDL-config-2{,-32}

N32

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILDN32}" CXX="g++ ${BUILDN32}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATHN32}" \
./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib32 &&
make

Install the package

make install &&
mv -v /usr/bin/libIDL-config-2{,-n32}

64Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" CXX="g++ ${BUILD64}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATH64}" \
./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib64 &&
make

Install the package

make install &&
mv -v /usr/bin/libIDL-config-2{,-64} &&
ln -sfv multiarch_wrapper /usr/bin/libIDL-config-2

Documentation

If you have TeTeX installed and wold like to build the documentation, Run the following command:

make pdf &&
make ps &&
make html &&
makeinfo --plaintext libIDL2.texi >libIDL2.txt

Install the documentation:

install -v -m755 -d /usr/share/doc/libIDL-0.8.14/html &&
install -v -m644 libIDL2.{pdf,dvi,ps,txt} README \
    /usr/share/doc/libIDL-0.8.14 &&
install -v -m644 libIDL2.html/* /usr/share/doc/libIDL-0.8.14/html
