Introduction to libusb
The libusb package contains a library used by some applications for USB device access.
Dependencies
Optional
Optional (For HTML Users Manual)
Optional (For the API Documentation
Non-Multilib
Compile the package:
./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-build-docs && make
If you wish to build the API documentation (see the required dependencies), issue the following command:
make apidox
Install the package
make install
If you built the HTML user manual, install it with the following commands:
install -v -d -m755 /usr/share/doc/libusb-1.0.9/html && install -v -m644 doc/html/* /usr/share/doc/libusb-1.0.9/html
If you built the API documentation, install it with the following commands:
install -v -d -m755 /usr/share/doc/libusb-1.0.9/apidocs && install -v -m644 apidocs/html/* \ /usr/share/doc/libusb-1.0.9/apidocs
Command Explanations
--disable-build-docs: This switch avoids building the HTML user manual. Remove it if you have the required dependencies installed and wish to build the manual.
Multilib
32Bit
Compile the package:
CC="gcc ${BUILD32}" CXX="g++ ${BUILD32}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATH32}" \ ./configure --prefix=/usr \ --disable-build-docs && make
Install the package
make install && mv -v /usr/bin/libusb-config{,-32}
N32
Compile the package:
CC="gcc ${BUILDN32}" CXX="g++ ${BUILDN32}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATHN32}" \ ./configure --prefix=/usr \ --libdir=/usr/lib32 --disable-build-docs && make
Install the package
make install && mv -v /usr/bin/libusb-config{,-n32}
64Bit
Compile the package:
CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" CXX="g++ ${BUILD64}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATH64}" \ ./configure --prefix=/usr \ --libdir=/usr/lib64 --disable-build-docs && make
If you wish to build the API documentation (see the required dependencies), issue the following command:
make apidox
Install the package
make install && mv -v /usr/bin/libusb-config{,-64} && ln -sfv multiarch_wrapper /usr/bin/libusb-config
If you built the HTML user manual, install it with the following commands:
install -v -d -m755 /usr/share/doc/libusb-1.0.9/html && install -v -m644 doc/html/* /usr/share/doc/libusb-1.0.9/html
If you built the API documentation, install it with the following commands:
install -v -d -m755 /usr/share/doc/libusb-1.0.9/apidocs && install -v -m644 apidocs/html/* \ /usr/share/doc/libusb-1.0.9/apidocs
