Introduction to Parted

Parted is a package that provides utilities for creating, destroying, resizing, checking and copying partitions and the file systems on the partitions. Parted provides a command-line interface that also serves as a sample implementation and script backend. The library allow the use of a GUI, such as GParted or QTParted, for the front end to parted.

Note

The version of HAL currently provided by CBLFS is 0.5.14. This version of HAL specifically looks for Parted-1.7.1.

Compile the package:

./configure --prefix=/usr &&
make

Install the package

Compile the package:

make

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILDN32}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib32 &&

64Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib64 &&
make

Short Descriptions

Parted	Command line utility to manipulate disk partitions and associated file systems.
libparted	Library containing disk and file system manipulation functions.
