Introduction to Parted

Parted is a package that provides utilities for creating, destroying, resizing, checking and copying partitions and the file systems on the partitions. Parted provides a command-line interface that also serves as a sample implementation and script backend. The library allow the use of a GUI, such as GParted or QTParted, for the front end to parted.

Note

The version of HAL currently provided by CBLFS is 0.5.14. This version of HAL specifically looks for Parted-1.7.1. Also note that if you use the development version of HAL it supports 1.7.1, 1.8.0, 1.8.1, 1.8.2, 1.8.6 or 1.8.7.

Compile the package:

./configure --prefix=/usr &&
make

Install the package

make install

Multilib

32Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD32}" ./configure --prefix=/usr &&
make

Install the package

make install

N32

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILDN32}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib32 &&
make

Install the package

make install

64Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" ./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib64 &&
make

make install
