LXPanel is a lightweight X11 desktop panel for LXDE, but can be used with other window managers such as Fluxbox.

Note

The configure script for LXPanel ends by echoing LXPanel requires menu-cache and lxmenu-data packages since version 0.4.0. Please make sure they are correctly installed. Otherwise, you will not be able to use applications menu. This does not mean that the configure script failed to find menu-cache and lxmenu-data. If in doubt, look for the following in the configure script output checking for MENU_CACHE... yes.

Non-Multilib

Compile the package:

./configure --prefix=${LXDE_PREFIX} &&
make

Install the package:

make install

Multilib

32Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD32}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATH32}" \
./configure --prefix=${LXDE_PREFIX} &&
make

Install the package:

make install

N32

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILDN32}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATHN32}" \
    ./configure --prefix=${LXDE_PREFIX} \
    --libdir=${LXDE_PREFIX}/lib32 &&
make

Install the package:

make install

64Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATH64}" \
    ./configure --prefix=${LXDE_PREFIX} \
    --libdir=${LXDE_PREFIX}/lib64 &&
make

Install the package:

make install
