Introduction to Bochs

Bochs is a portable x86 PC emulation software package that emulates enough of the x86 CPU, related AT hardware, and BIOS to run Windows, Linux, *BSD, Minix, and other OS's, all on your workstation.

Non-Multilib

Compile the package:

./configure --prefix=/usr &&
make

Install the package

make install

Multilib

This package does not provide any libraries, only internal plugins, so only one installation is needed.

32Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD32}" CXX="g++ ${BUILD32}" USE_ARCH=32 \
PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATH32}" \
./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-docbook &&
make

Install the package

make install

N32

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILDN32}" CXX="g++${BUILDN32}" USE_ARCH=n32 \
PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATHN32}" \
./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib32 \
    --disable-docbook &&
make

Install the package

make install

64Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" CXX="g++ ${BUILD64}" USE_ARCH=64 \
PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATH64}" \
./configure --prefix=/usr --libdir=/usr/lib64 \
    --disable-docbook &&
make

Install the package

make install
