Introduction to Fluxbox

Fluxbox is a windowmanager for X that was based on the Blackbox 0.61.1 code. It is very light on resources and easy to handle but yet full of features to make an easy, and extremely fast, desktop experience.

Compile the package:

./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-imlib2 &&
make

Install the package

make install

Multilib

This package does not provide any libraries so only one installation is needed.

32Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD32}" CXX="g++ ${BUILD32}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATH32}" \
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-imlib2 --x-libraries=${XORG_PREFIX}/lib &&
make

Install the package

make install

N32

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILDN32}" CXX="g++ ${BUILDN32}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATHN32}" \
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-imlib2 --x-libraries=${XORG_PREFIX}/lib32 &&
make

Install the package

make install

64Bit

Compile the package:

CC="gcc ${BUILD64}" CXX="g++ ${BUILD64}" PKG_CONFIG_PATH="${PKG_CONFIG_PATH64}" \
./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-imlib2 --x-libraries=${XORG_PREFIX}/lib64 &&
make

Install the package

make install

Configuring Fluxbox

For customizing the Fluxboxmenu, edit the ~/.fluxbox/menu file. Keyboard Shortcuts are contained within ~/.fluxbox/keys
